Dog

Cuddles came to our family when he was two.
He had been abused in his previous home
and took almost another two years
to gain trust in his new family.
Cuddles was a very loving affectionate dog.
I considered him my very best friend.
He faithfully greeted me with happy kisses
when I got home
and stayed at my side
until I had to leave the next day
for school or work.
Whenever possible he accompanied our family
in our daily plans outside the home.
I have so many special memories
that would take pages to fill about his special traits
and the fun times we shared
but will try to focus here on some of the bests...
he was gentle caring and loving.
He always showed his concern
when I was sad or hurt
his protectiveness when I was scared
his joy when I was happy.
He was intuitive and empathetic.
He loved to always be physically touching
and was generous with his wuffy kisses.
He never ignored me bit me or snapped at me
but always showed a
faithful obedient and devoted spirit
that left a gaping hole
when he was gone.
No creature will ever replace him in my heart
and I patiently wait for the day
when we can reunite and be best friends again.
He was truly a "dog of dogs".
