Cat

I recently lost my beloved ginger cat Ambrose.
I miss him so much but I know he`s gone to a better place.
His death has prompted me to reflect
on an incident that happened in 1975:
I was given a budgie retired from a circus act.
He never made a sound couldn`t fly and had been brainwashed
into sitting perfectly still unless an object was
placed in front of him which he`d mindlessly climb.
One morning I found him hunched up on the floor of his cage.
I held him cupped in my hands and as I said to my Gran
"There`s something wrong with this bird...."
he collapsed and died.
A second later I felt invisible wings beat against my hands
and then brush past my face. I said "he`s dead.....
Oh! he`s OK now he can fly again!"
He was free off to a better place - far better than his lot here.
Ambrose is free now.
He spent his time here enriching our lives with his unconditional love.
He`s earned his better place.
Till our souls meet again my gentle friend.
