Larry has been with Betsy for 20 years. No one could believe that a cat could live that long. I joined the picture 5 years ago. When Bets and I first started dating he would hide behind her armchair the entire time I was in her apt. After our marrige he gradually accepted me and I grew to love him.
Though in the end he was blind slightly senile and had drool that was so vile it could blister skin or remove varnish. We loved him more than ever. He loved being a chicken belly egg belly or steak belly. I groomed him almost every night. He showed how much he enjoyed it by either doing the “chin lift” or showing us his “crayon”. I miss him so much and feel a hurt I’ve never experienced before. I know we’ll both see him again someday.
