Buddy Girl by Debera

Buddy girl showed up at the house June 1987 just walking the street. It had been 3 yrs since I saw a pug so after the owner didn’t want her she came to me. She was her own personality. Playing with the others and trying to snore with hubby to see who could snore the most. She was 6 and she went through the loss of Brandi and Bear. She was my husband’s girl.

Then in Oct 1996 she seemed to be having some respiratory problems. So we went to vet and she was okay until OcT 1996. A few more trips for meds then 1 day I called and he said come in. Did x-ray and her heart was enlarged either she would have a heart problem or CHF.

Then on Nov. 9 1996 I called my vet and told him what was happening and I said I think it is time. It was so I held her and told her how much I loved her and the joy she brought me. She died in my arms so we came home and she was buried next to Brandi and Bear’s remains with a yellow rose and a native ceremony.

For days I sat by her grave I had lost 3 in 6 months. But I know she is with Samantha Dutchess Brandi mom and Bear playing and all watching over me. One day we will all be together. Rescue is my heart but with those we rescue also comes a better life for them but also the sadness of losing them because of ill health or lake of care from prior owners.
