Oh Kalamazoo how do you do?” This was the greeting I had for you every day when I would wake up or come home. You were such a gentle dog and you were so good with any and all the children around you. When a child would stay over night you were there at the bottom of the bed that they slept in. No one could come near that child until morning. Not even me!
You felt it was your job to watch over them and protect them. All the children felt safe when you were near them. When Spring time would come you would go by our swimming pool waiting to be the first one to jump in. And you loved being in the snow even when your feet would be caked with it. I never had to worry about feeling safe when you were around because you would always be on alert with that big feather tail standing up and you standing in front of me when a stranger came near.
Kal I will miss the way you would talk to me when I came home from work. As if you were telling me all the news of the neighborhood. You are missed every day along with your buddy Duchess.
Some day we’ll be together
swimming in a pool or
walking down a road
together again.
But until then I will miss you.
