Charlie by Lee / Daddy’s dog

Dad’s dog!
I’d like you tell you a story about my dad and his dog. My dad had always liked dogs but this one extra speical! My dad was walking to work one day and he spotted a black dog. He didn’t take any notice of it because he thought it might have a owner around or she had gone missing from a back garden. The more he tried to ignore her the more she wouldn’t leave his side. She followed him all the way to work and sat underneath his work bench.

My dad worked for my grandad so it wasn’t that bad. My grandad said what that dog doing under there? Who’s is it? My dad replied I don’t no this morning she wouldn’t leave. After work dad got up the dog got up, he left she left. She followed him home. The next day dad took her up the police station. No one had been up to collect her or even said they had lost a dog.

My dad decided to keep her and called her Charlie. She looked like she had been beaten up. They were inseparable. She would follow him every were never left his side, even followed him to the toilot and lay under his legs.

Then I was born charlie was alright about me being around, but I used to torment her and poke my fingers in her ears. I was only a little girl. I grow to love her, but she was still all my dad. She worshiped my dad.

After 16 years of companionship her time was up. Every one loved her she was so gental. She had things wrong with her legs and could not walk anymore. So my dad made the decision to let her go, to let her be free. The vet put her to sleep. His life wasn’t the same since his baby girl passed away. Love you loads.

Love,

Daddy, Alex, Sue xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
