Tawny, we miss you every day. You were such a good dog, a wonderful friend. The past Christmas season was one we will never look back on fondly. We look back on you with laughter, but more often with misty eyes. We have dozens of pictures of you through the years that we’ll treasure forever.
Jenn had you for 8-plus years, and I was your “daddy” for about 3 years, and it breaks my heart that it wasn’t longer.
We loved how your furry head would pop up in the picture window when we’d come home.
We miss how happy you were riding in the car, and getting treats from the bank drive-thru teller.
We miss how you’d “raise your paw”, proclaiming yourself as “world’s cutest dog”.
We miss how you’d whine and beg us to bring you on the bed during bad storms at night, and how you’d sit on our feet at the dinner table, “guarding us”.
We miss how you’d chase wildlife in the backyard, I know you were proud to have nabbed a possum, rabbit, and raccoon, but it frustrated you that you never got a squirrel.
I miss your eyes and kisses, and how you’d walk into the computer room just to see me, and get your head scratched. And I miss burying my head in your fur when I needed a hug to get away from the cares of the world.
We tried our best to make your last few months happy and healthy, but we know you’re free of pain from diabetes now, and chasing wildlife, and eating countless treats.
You’ve left “paw prints on our hearts” forever.
See you in heaven, sweetie.
Forever in our hearts,
| Tawny |
