Abby by Lea Ann England / Lea

Abby,

I picked you over the rest. It was such an easy decision, you were the one eating rocks.
From that day forward, for the next thirteen years, you met me with the same unbridled enthusiasm.

I will miss most your simple presence.
Unwavering, never too tired, never distracted.

Some may not consider you to be perfect, but I did.
Eating rocks, crayons, poopsicles, and anything else that didn’t eat you first was endearing and quite amazing.

It’s so quiet, no thumping.
It’s 4:58 and there is no barking for dinner—how will the boys ever get dinner?

Your unconditional love was truly a gift from God.
The only sadness you ever brought was in leaving.

Love,
Abby
