“I wish someone had given little Jesus a dog
As loyal and loving as mine.
To sleep by His manger and gaze into His eyes
And adore Him for being divine.
As Our Lord grew to manhood, His own faithful dog
would have followed Him all through His day,
While He preached to the crowd, made the sick well,
And knelt in the garden to pray.
It’s sad to remember that Christ went away
to face death alone and apart,
With no tender dog following closely behind
to comfort her Master’s heart.
And when Jesus rose on that Easter morn,
How happy He would have been
As His dog licked His hand and barked her delight
For the One who died for all men.
Well, the Lord has a dog now. I just sent Him mine,
My old pal so dear to me.
And I smile through my tears on this first day alone
Knowing they’re in Eternity.”

Our sweet Abby went to Rainbow Bridge to meet Dolly, Lady, Sera, Millie, and Dexter early this morning. Time and disease finally took its toll and her body was just
too tired to keep going.
She was a wonderful friend, companion, and family member. Always loving, always dependable, always ready for a cuddle and a hug.
She had gone through many phases in her one life. We don’t know what all she had been through before she came to live with us but we do know that, whatever it was,
it almost killed her.
Ever resilient, our Abby went from being abused and close to death herself to being a sought after therapy dog, called upon and invited to come to the first reunion party at the hospital for their neonatal unit and to go to different nursing homes each week. She seemed to know how important it was to be there for people who needed her. Whoever or wherever they were.
We will miss her but know that now, she is running, playing, healthy and whole. Back together, The Fantastic Four. Now along with Millie and Dexter trying to keep them in line.
Our sweet, happy, gentle Abigail. We love you.
All of our love til we're together again,
