Rio by Rick Groff / Dad

Mr. Rio- It’s Saturday morning and I walked down the road to get the paper with your sister Ali- we passed by the birch trees I buried you under Thursday night. The lady that found you and kindly pulled you off the road called last night in tears. Between the two of us we’re crying a river.

You had a tough row to how- for the first 6months of your life I could do nothing but compare you to Cyrus who left in Oct ’06. That was my problem not yours. But I ended up loving you so much- you were and will always remain a beautiful, loving eager to please pal.
I have no consolation now for your loss- it hurts and hurts bad- Ali is not doing well either- your vineyard romps and cat/mouse chasing a thing of her (our) past.

Sleep well knucklehead- I really hope there is a Rainbow Bridge because I’m getting close to it and hope to see you Cyrus and Hana someday again. My life was made better with you in it bud.

Love,
Rio
