When I first saw Crystal, she was just eight weeks old, and painfully skinny. She was practically at deaths door, but she still had a weak wag of her tail for me, and the most gentle eyes I had ever seen. She entered my heart at that moment, and will forever remain there. She was beautiful, she had attitude, she fought her way back to health and became my best friend and unswerving companion for 11 years. Crystal went suddenly, but it was obvious that she had been fighting the cancer much longer than we will ever know. She was such a strong and independent dog, yet she loved with all her heart and was loyal to the end. She adored my children with an affection that was mother-like, always patient and tolerant, never a nip or even a growl. She will remain forever in my heart, and in the hearts of my children, who grew up with her at their sides, and under their cribs.
with love
