Bronx’s favorite time was in the rain or water.
And as a sign from God it rained today.
It flooded my whole yard.
My Koi were swimming all over the place.
The water was about 6 inches deep and Bronx’s sister Misty seemed to
be playing with another dog who may or may not have been their.
Bronx was a very large American Bulldog who played with a
14 inch tire for a toy. It was the only thing that lasted more than
a week or so.
Pieces of logs about 6 or 7 inches in diameter he chewed up
in less than a couple hours.
He had his own pool and it all ways had fresh water running in it.
He would throw the tire around like it was a chew toy from pet store.
Bronx always held his toys under the water stuck his head
under the water and barked at them .
We think he liked the way it sounded different.
Bronx weight in at 171lbs at the time of his leaving us
oh and 4ounces my son says.
He was truly a gentle giant his head as big as my chest and his
chest as broad as my shoulders and I am no small woman at
5’6″ and weight well over 150lbs. And handle horses all day long.
So you can really see how big I’m talking about’
{he weight as much as most men}
His best friend Jason my son and him would have to be pulled
apart at night because it was like two kids
egging each other on playing at night.
His tail wagging alone was thump’thump’thump in the night.
It sounded like the walls were coming down.
One night and went running to see both of them under the
blanket acting asleep. But their was Bronx’s Tail thump, thump, thump.
He tried to do what Jason asked and play asleep.
We all got good laugh out of it.
Even my daughter Jasons sister loved him even when she was
wearing white and he came charging up and smudge
her as if for a laundry commercial.
She was upset and got mad and stormed of in a huff late for
work because of a dog. She changed and when she came home here
he come again not understanding he got her whites dirty
she yell at him and pouted until she came back and
let him get her all dirty like she had been in a mud puddle.
He never got her dirty again before work but after it was who was the
sneaky enough to get by or get the other.
My second to the youngest son Shawn had always been so
scared of big dogs I mean really scared of them because he had been
bitten by one of our Doberman when the four wheeler had gotten
away from him and the dog dragged him of to save him from harm,
but pierced his leg with three of his teeth.
Shawn would cry if he through that a dog like Bronx was even on T.V.
So to see even him close to this all so big but all
so gentle of giants as he was.
I remember playing soccer in the back yard all the neighbors kids and
mine playing like he was a super star on the team.
It was funny Bronx played better than most of the kids,
he would pass when he couldn’t get in to score.
And take a shot when he could score.
Never wanting to leave Jasons side.
They were also so close.
Jason seems to to be real broke up over his best friends
passing at such a young age.
Born on March 2 2001 he passed the 28 of Jun. 2002.
He weight 171lbs and 4ounces at the time of his death.
Who would have known what that day had instore for the two friends a
real hard lesson learned for one and passing of an friend for
an eternity of pain and sorrow at this extremely large dog that
the first time I saw him and his sister
[right here watching like she knows what I’m doing]
I new they were coming home with me both started out the
smallest of the litter. Bronx learned what the food pan was
and would sleep on top of the food so he was sure to get his.
For example I drive an Expedition and Bronx could bearly
stand in back.
Not straight or with his head or tail up.
From such a humble start on life we brought the two brother
& sister home to love from that day forth.
And we will always love the big Loggerhead.
Back to wear began do you know how funny tire shops look at
you when you ask for a tire for your dog to play with.
Especially when it has to be new and none belted tire.
No you Problable don’t it is very rare you ever see a dog
that is Bronx’s size. He is a once in lifetime for use.
And his sister his nephew and his niece{which could make up
her mind weather she liked him or not}All miss him.
Maybe the rain was to comfort me today.
His nephew at 8 and half weeks old and weights 14 and a half lbs.
and niece 12 and three Quarters and Bronxs sister played
like he was here.
They say dogs see spirits and if that is true let it rain for
the rest of my life if that when he romps around the yard.
Please let me see threw there eyes to see my big bold baby once more
and I’ll hold that sight for the rest of my life.
I am having such a hard time dealing with this.
I thought I heard him this morning and I had just climbed into bed
up and out the door I went to go to his dog house and their
I sat crying I moved everything looking for some
kind of answer I know the doc my Dad said heat stroke.
But he had maid the walk a million times before.
I don’t get it . I don’t understand.
I want to be with him to protect him if from nothing
but himself. But like my hot mail address says cantstopgoing.
I welcome any idea on how to get the pain to let up slow down
all these thoughts I have over him.
It has only been three days.
I feel I am on this horrible spiral down this big dark hole.
I don’t know where it goes.
I have to stop now for I can’t see the keys for the tears.
They don’t have to stop just slow down some I won’t ask much ?
Just to slow down some.
WITH ALL MY THOUGHTS ARE BRONX .
