Brandy by Maddy

Like so many others who have written tributes here I miss my dog Brandy very much. I keep waiting for this pain to end but it never does. Her bright brown eyes and beautiful black coat and mostly her loving personality stay with me. She did not have to die at such a young age.

A vet in McAllen Texas would not repair the ACL in her left leg until we had $970.00 up front to pay for it. It took us ten days to raise the money and while that was happening we carried all 107 pounds of her everywhere she needed to go…it nearly killed both of us…but she did have to put alot of weight on her good legs too and by the time we got the money and went back to the vet.

She had torn the ACL in her right back leg and the vet said she would not be able to rehabilitate from both injuries…all of you know what a terrible decision I had to make and I have not gotten over it to this day and it’s been 6 months…my life does go on…I work every day and have a wonderful husband and family but Brandy is the first thing I think about in the morning and the last thing I think about at night..I still cannot stop crying when I see other dogs or hear others talk about their dogs…I miss my girl so much…sometimes it’s almost unbearable. If you have a pet love them with everything you have…I know I did…and she knew it.
