Pee wee was my baby boy. I had him 15 years since he was a pup. Well I’m a vet tech so I pretty much knew what was going on. Here’s my story. I came on from work on a Friday night. I got into the tub and Pee wee like he always did was laying in the bathroom floor. Well he started looking funny in his eyes so I jumped out of the tub and hugged him up. He was breathing hard and turning kind of purple.
I called my vet and she meet me back at the hospital because I knew he needed oxygen. Well on the way he started breathing easier. Well we gave him some injections; pulled blood and took x-rays. Well his heart was so big it almost covered his whole chest. So we knew that was the problem. He never showed any signs.
Well anyway we put him on meds and I took him home. Well I had him with me for 3 more days. I got up on Tuesday morning to go to work he barked and ran outside like he did every morning came back in and
then he kind of fell over.
I hugged him up in my arms. I knew he was dying and there was nothing I could done and took his last breath in my arms. It was a quick and easy death he did not suffer and I know he was right where he would have wanted to be.
I have seen dogs with congestive heart failure sitting in oxygen not being able to breath. They will go home and be back maybe a week later not being able to breath again and the owners will have to make a decision on putting them to sleep. It’s sad. I’m glad Pee wee went in my arms on God’s call. I loved him so much nobody knows.
Pee wee I love you.
I love you, baby boy.
