Chris was found wandering when about three months old. He had recently had an operation and lost one eye. A gentleman took him to the vets where a nurse advertised in the local newspaper for his owner or a new home. No one claimed this little one so he became ours. Chris had fits when young and although they did cease he would often have ailments and was quite a small cat and rough looking. My friend used to say he would never make old bones. But he lived to sixteen years old. He was being treated by our vet for a heart condition for the last weeks of his life.
One tea time I looked for him and he was asleep with three of our other cats. I went upstairs just for a couple of minutes or so and when I came back down into the kitchen Chris was lying on the kitchen carpet. I touched him and spoke to him and he put out one front paw then breathed out and was gone. He was a real little character all those years.
You are loved and will never be forgotten, Chris.
