Foxy’s is a unique story. We acquired her from the former owners of our house approximately 12 years ago. They did not want her, and being animal lovers we took her in. For the past twelve years we have seen the many faces of Foxy. There was the responsible mom, the feisty playful puppy, the faithful companion who followed daily routines, and the ornery old lady. We loved all of these “Foxies” with all of our hearts, and treated her with all the love and respect that we would give a family member.
Foxy always made her presence known, whether it was by speaking (she had her own dog language), using gestures (nudging you with her nose or paw), or the dramatic way she would burst through a closed door. She always made sure we knew she was there. Foxy had a secure and respected place in our home and within our family.
It is inconceivable that she is gone forever. We can still hear her at night sometimes, and see her out of the corners our eyes, but we can’t kiss her, hug her, pet her, or do any of those things that would truly show her how much we love her. We almost lost Foxy two years ago because she swallowed a battery, but she was spared.
After that she lived out her life a little demented and a little confused, but we continued to love her and give her free reign over “her” house. A huge void has been left in our hearts and within our family. If Foxy were with us now, she would be licking us trying to console us and dry our tears.
We love you baby girl...
