Hope by ICARE dog rescue / Jan – one of many who cared and tried to help

Hope and another severely emaciated dog, Jade, were abandoned and left to starve to death in the back yard of an unoccupied CA home. The home had been empty for a month before the dogs were found and taken to the LA County Lancaster shelter. Hope was severely emaciated, dehydrated, and had lost most of her hair to mange. ICARE rescued both dogs from the shelter in time to save them from euthanasia and get them the medical help they desperately needed. The other dog Jade, was not in as bad condition. Hope spent nearly all her time after rescue in a vet hospital fighting for her life. Finally, her damaged little body gave up the struggle. She was just a puppy. Hope captured many hearts and will live on in our memory as a reminder of the many other dogs out there who are abused, neglected, and abandoned.

Hope, you were not mine, but I still loved you with all my heart. RIP dear sweet girl — you were a beautiful soul.

You will never be forgotten Hope.
