Kasson was my protector, my confidante, my pal, my friend and stablility. He was everything the German Shepherd breed represents. Two days before he died, he sensed I might be in danger of a misplaced ladder and came to guard me from the potential injury.
Hemangiosarcoma no longer ravages his body but he fought hard until his death 48 days after diagnosis. His smiling eyes could charm food from your plate; the nudge of his nose jolted you from sleep; and his presence, real or imagined, ever daunting. Loyalty, strength and charisma
describe his stature.
Kasson, I know how much you loved me and only hope you know I loved you equally. Even in my dreams, you have come to take care of me. Watch for me as I will see you soon at the Bridge. And we will continue our walks.
