For My Kelly Sue:
You were black as the night, but so very bright. You always could make me laugh, when all I could do was cry. With a cold black nose, you tickled my toes. Good or bad you were always near, so comforting just to know you were here. Protecting me from evil, though you prefer to remain unseen. Your tattered beloved ball, I thought I’d seen it all. A love so complete, no one will ever repeat. How her brown eyes could convey, her love always on display. Protection..love..and compassion, for her it was not just a fashion. Sadly now she is gone, but in my heart she will live on. For to me she was never “just a dog”, for all time my Kelly Sue will always be….my heart, my love, my baby.
