Keno by Greg and Barbara Shippie / Mammadog and Pappadog

Keno was adopted from the San Francisco Samoyed Rescue in December 2001. He won our hearts with his sad eyes, and his once scruffy look. He was quiet and patient looking for someone to take care of – since his previous family couldn’t keep him. Keno was almost 6 years old when we took him in.

Once he settled our bear like Samoyed was happy, joyful, funny, loving, hugging, and made you smile. When you talked to him, he would look at you as if he knew what you meant – almost human like. He was the patience – when we lacked it; he was the love – when we needed a snuggle ; he was funny – when we seemed too serious; he is gone – and we miss him.

He loved people going up to them asking “hi how are you” … he was curious … and he was beautiful.. People loved to touch him, he drew crowds, he brought smiles when we walked with him.

He was a talker, expressive when he wanted a bone, drooled when it was time to eat and slept with his long legs up in the air. He was 100 lbs and walked around with a stuffed toy in his mouth wanting to play.
We loved him for the short time we had him – and we know he loved us too. Rescues are aware they are loved.
