We went to the breeder’s home to select a puppy, and saw this little fluff-ball completely intimidating their black lab! She was feisty and playful and we knew immediately
she was the one.
When Kira was 10 she was attacked in our yard by a Pit Bull, resulting in a crushed rib cage and collapsed lungs. Although we were told she would not live through the night, Kira had other plans —
the Rainbow Bridge would have to wait…
She fought hard to stay with us and we were thrilled at her complete recovery (the staff at the veterinary hospital dubbed her “The Miracle Dog”)! To us, she was living testimony to the power of prayer, and never stopped telling off the big dogs.
We loved her for another five years before our brave (and stubborn!) Kira finally crossed the Rainbow Bridge on 10/9/09. We will miss her everyday, and be thankful everyday for the gift of her companionship for over 15 years.
Rest in peace and joy, little Kira, and let those big dogs know who’s boss! We will see you again.
We always come back for our dogs…
Our love always,
