Lex by Doug, Darlene, and Chad Andersen / Chad and the rest of the family

Lex came into our family as one of 3 sons (also along with one daughter) of Molly, who at the time was our primary dog. Molly passed away on December 14, 1998. Since that time, Lex became the primary pet of the household. I was glad to keep Lex in the family, because I loved his adorable face since the day he was born and I knew there was chemistry between us. Lex ultimately became the family’s best friend.

Mom and dad looked after him when I couldn’t. He lived through many of my life changing events, like prom, two graduations, and other milestones in my life. I even wanted him to be in my graduation pictures, thats how much I loved him. I remember him coming up to me and telling me that he wants to go outside, knocking on the door to come inside, and saving my chair at the dinner table and
anyone else for that matter.

He tried to protect us by barking whenever he heard the doorbell. He would also go out with mom in the morning to water the garden. He was very special to my heart and the rest of the family. He even loved being around my 3 and 4 year old nieces, he treated everyone as if they were his pet. When I learned of his passing, one of the things I wanted to do for him was give him a proper burial. I got some good supplies that resemble a casket for a human. He deserved a good resting place after everything he did for this family.

Love is Forever,
Lex
