A Tribute To Mei Ling,
our little black and white Shih Tzu Baby!
You were a wonderful treasure
from the moment we took you home!
Mommy saw you at the pet shop, played with you, and could not leave without you. Daddy was skeptical because he had never been very fond of dogs — in fact, he was not in the least fond of dogs.
But after Daddy saw you, saw how sweet you were, and how you played with the little toy spider, he finally relented and agreed to take you home. He agrees today that that was the best decision we ever made!
You always played with such abandon! You enjoyed life to the fullest. In your younger days, you played and played. Your favorite games were Hide & Seek and Chase. And how you loved to snuggle up to Daddy by backing up into him until he could do nothing but stop and
scratch your back side.
Every morning Daddy would send you into the bedroom to wake me up. You would burrow and dig into the blankets on our bed until you had pulled the covers down and would lick me in the face until I laughed and laughed. It was such fun waking up to your antics each morning.
You brought so much love and companionship to us that we were heart broken when Doc said it was time to let you go. You suffered with such a long illness and never complained. Mommy gave you shots and you never flinched a muscle!
Even on your last days here when you could not eat or stand, your eyes followed us with love everywhere we went. It was so hard to let you go, but we knew it was the right thing to do for you, that keeping you here would only prolong your pain.
We love you and will be looking for you in Heaven. Take Care of our Dads until we get there! Also check in on Aunt Ruby. She loves dogs and will be very happy to see you!
