Miss Cleo

We first found you in a shelter in September of 2000. You were not the “prettiest” cat but you were so gentle and sweet. My husband laughed when you came home and said that you looked like you’ve been attacked with a hair-dryer. The shelter said you were about 8 months old.

In time with love and patience you have become a part of our family. You also turned into one beautiful and loving cat. It must have been all the hugs and tuna.

Several weeks ago you started to hide out and we decided to take you to the vet. It was discovered that you had a form of a liver disease and you were admitted. Our family even considered taking you to a special university for a procedure that may help you. Hopefully it could be arranged in several days. We decided to go out of town for two days because we knew that you were in good hands.

Friday at the vet I held you for 2 hours. That night the doctor left a message saying you actually ate! We left with high hopes. I contacted the vet Saturday morning and found out that your liver was worse and that you were uncomfortable. I knew then I had to make a choice quickly. There was no way I could make you wait for that appointment for the tubes. It would not be fair to you. How I regret that I was not there to hold you as you took your last breath. But I could not be selfish and make you wait for us.

We picked up your little body this morning to bring you home. Hopefully you feel no pain and are happy. The 11 months you have been with us and our other animals has been special. You had a short life — but hope we gave you a good life.

Little Miss Cleo we hope you are working on your “kitty tan” laying in the sun’s rays with the wind blowing over your belly. We will never forget you!

Love

Mike Chris Tori and Jon.
