" Molly Lou "
Dec. 1981 ------ Oct. 1998
I was 7 years old and lived in Texas at the time.
It was winter and there was snow all over the ground.
I was coming home from my friend's house when I saw this
momma dog out in the cold and was cut and bleeding.
Me being the animal lover that I am I went and picked the
dog up and wrapped her in my coat. That's when I heard a
woman's voice telling me that that was her dog.
She called me over and showed me a box full of little puppies.
They were so cute. She said that I could have one if I wanted.
So of course I took one home with me. I picked the runt because
she was so cute. I took her home and showed my family.
They didn't want to keep her but let me anyway.
She was my baby. With me through it all.
We moved in 1986 to California and we took her with us.
I'm now 24 and I moved back to Texas.
A couple of weeks ago I received a phone call from my sister
in California and I could tell by her voice that something was wrong.
I don't know what it was but I knew that Molly had passed on.
I saw her last in June of 1997 and I knew then that she wasn't going
to live much longer so before I left to come home
I said my good-byes to her. She had lived a long life.
17 years old is old for an animal.
As I sit here and write this I am crying but I know that she
is in a good place and being taken care of.
Molly wherever you are...
I love you and miss you!
