Her papers say her name is Vicki’s Little Nikki but really she is The Nik Nak Dog. She was the best birthday present ever given to anyone. How did our family get so lucky? She loved to chase the mail truck and the school bus. She would only come if she wanted to thank goodness she wanted to be around us a lot! She loved walks and car rides that is as long as she could have the window down. She had to sit on a pillow on our lap so that she could see out. She loved green beans. She had english muffins with cinnamon sugar in bed on Sunday mornings.
John came home and made her scrambled eggs at lunch time he couldn’t bear to have her be alone. Her best friend is Maestro. She lived in Indiana Nebraska and Colorado. She was not a foo foo dog more of a dirt lover digging was her special skill. She was born on April 05,1993 just so that she could come and be a part of our family. That was one of the best days ever. The worst day ever was on October 23 2001 when she was diagnosed with cancer. It still takes our breath away to think of that day. She was so brave and never cried. She visited the vet 21 times between October 23rd and May 29 2002. She had surgery and never cried. She had radiation and never cried. She suffered through many different types of chemo therapy and never cried. She was so brave. We had to let her pain end and we are still crying. If feels like we will never stop missing her.
I hope that is true.
Dr. Monica Jankowski at Colorado State Veterinary Hospital tried so hard to save her little life and after 7 months and 6 days of giving our little girl every thing she had to offer and more her little body gave up the fight. We are forever grateful to Monica and the staff at CSU for the time they gave us with our sweet puppy. She would break out in a grin when we announced it was time to go see Monica and get a cheeseburger!
Katie and Sophie our yorkies of 17 and 18 years were at Rainbow Bridge to welcome her when she arrived cancer free and with that tail a waggin’. We just wanted you to know a little bit about our puppy who melted our hearts for so many years. She came to us in a cardboard box and we just today placed her ashes in a velvet lined silver heart. We think she likes her silver heart because she was a little puppy with a great big heart.
We Love Her.
We Love Her.
We Love Her.
God Bless You Nik Nak Dog!
We Love you Forever!
P.S. You bark all you want to!!!
We are listening.
