Nina was a beautiful gray long haired cat with green eyes and lots of love to give. I adopted her from the animal hospital on September 2nd 2005, they had a few cats looking for a home.Nina liked to play and sleep like most cats do, she liked being groomed and she loved all the attention we could give her. We had alot of good & happy times with Nina, she had a good home with us.A few years ago, Nina was diagnosed with an overactive thyroid.
She made it through the surgery but she had lost most of or all of her vision because of her condition. Over the last 2 years or so, Nina had acute pancreatitis and some kidney problems. My mother and I treated her conditions and for the most part had them under control. Nina was a fighter and she always seemed to bounce back.
She had her good days and bad days because of all the things she had to overcome.Sadly in the middle of May(2013), Nina was diagnosed with F.I.P. My mother and I had never heard of this disease, we gave her medicine to help her and took her to the vet twice a week. Nina didn’t eat very much during the last 2 weeks of May. Nina’s health was getting worse even though we gave her all her medications she needed everyday. On Monday June 3rd,the doctor told us the heart breaking news that we had to put Nina down. The doctors did an ultra sound and found fluid in her lungs, there is no cure for this. If we didn’t do the right thing for Nina, she would’ve suffered. Even though she fought hard over the last few years, she couldn’t over come the damage that f.i.p had done to her body.
We said our final goodbye to Nina that day, it was heart breaking but we couldn’t let her suffer….We Miss You Nina
