Pinky by Luise/Doris Nerding / Doris

Our little girl cat,
Pinky, passed away a several months ago,
and I still miss her very much.

She was a Siamese mix, similar in appearance to a Ragdoll, or Snowshoe cat. She was 16 years old, and like her mother, developed cancer in her lungs. She was having trouble breathing, and the vet suggested prednisone, since chemo would probably only extend her life by a few months.

After a couple of months of giving her prednisone (not without a fight – I had to wrap her in a towel to keep her from scratching), she was not getting better at all. She was eating more because of the prednisone, but she was only able to walk a foot or so, and then she would have to sit down.

She was very affectionate and intelligent. She would sometimes play with an empty, crumpled-up Tender Vittles packet, kicking it around like a soccer ball all by herself.

She was such a sweet little girl.
I so wish that she was still
with us here today.

Bye, Pinky.

I'll love you always,
Pinky
