Rebel by Sarah & lindakay

This is a tribute to you Rebel from your mum Sarah. She is unable to do it herself so I am sending her tribute to you instead.

When your mum woke this morning she said “It is four years today since I killed my baby “but we know your mummy didn’t kill you. She sent you home to be at peace because you were old and poorly. Your mum still has your ashes in your little casket and refuses to ever be parted from them. It’s a lovely casket Rebel. It has your name on.

All your toys have been put away. Your mummy still has them but keeps them safe from the other dogs. No one is allowed to touch them because they belonged to you. I was lucky enough to make a video of you just before you passed to the bridge. It’s a lovely tribute to you and your mummy treasures it. Although after you passed it was a long time before she felt able to look at it. You were so poorly when we made that video. It was as if you hung on long enough for me to do it so your mum would always be able to look at you and see what a lovely creature you were and you were lovely.

I thought you were beautiful but oh your poor mummy she was so sad when you had to part. You had grown up together and it tore her heart out to let you go. She will never love another pet baby like she loved you. You were loved so much on this earth Rebel and she will never forget you.

So Rebel you be happy at rainbows bridge while you are waiting for your mummy to join you. Run and play and look down sometimes and send a kiss to your mum. I know she sends a kiss back to you. All that’s left now is for me to say from your mummy “Goodnight my baby Rebel. I will always love you ” and from me I say goodnight also sweet dreams.
