My big love, Rick James came to me through my rescue. I was going through a very hard time in my life. I went to meet him one day at the kennel. We had no fosters at the time and I lived with my mom, so I couldn’t foster or so I thought. When we met, I immediately felt a bond, a bond like no other. We played in the play room and went for a nice walk. When we returned to the play room, he sat next to me and put his paw in my hand. At that moment, I feel in love! Rick was already six and being such a big guy, I knew I may only have a short time with him. I begged my mom to let me bring him home and she said YES!
After just one day, my mom also fell in love with “her” Ricky. Rick had it very hard the first years of his life so I spoiled him rotten! We sat and talked everyday and I would tell him how much I loved him. I finally got my own house and Rick and I loved it! Our bond grew so strong, it’s like he knew what I was thinking and feeling. When I was sad, he was there for me. He loved to cuddle! He had a few little health issues but we got through them. He got me through the hardest time of my life. Because of Rick, I was not alone. I had an amazing friend and love.
Sadly, on Monday morning after cuddle time and I said I love you and went out for a while. Little did I know that would be the last time I would say I love you. I came home to you in your favorite spot, in your bed. My love was gone, no signs or distress or anything. My heart broke and is still broken. You were my love, my life. In two years, I gave you all my heart and soul. I loved you with all my heart. I don;t understand now why the Lord took you so suddenly, but you are in heaven now and we will meet again.
I never knew I could love so much! We rescued each other and I’ll love you always. You will NEVER be forgotten!!
