There was only one name for you my sweet and gentle little girl, and that was Shadow. From the moment you picked me out to be your momma you were my companion and my snuggler. Whenever I needed a hug you were there for me. I learned to type one handed so I could hold you close to me as you wished.
Over the years your family grew as we adopted other kittens, and you accepted and cared for each one. You got along with everyone, cuddled with them, played with them.
You loved high places and it always amazed us how you could glide effortlessly from the floor to the top of the china cabinet or from the floor to the counter to the top of the fridge to eat your dinner and watch all that was happening below. You loved to spy on us when we did not even know you were up there! Even at age 18 you leaped up high to survey your new kingdom.
You woke us in the morning with gentle kisses and whisker tickles and an occasional tapping of the paw on our cheeks when we did not rise quickly enough.
You were like Houdini too, slipping out into the garage to explore an unknown area. Or finding a niche in a closet to call your own.
Shadow, you gave us so much happiness, laughter and love. But then the playful girl changed into hurting girl and we had to say goodbye.
We are sad that you have moved on. Thank you for all you gave to us. You will remain in our hearts forever. Be free of pain now and play once again. We miss you.
All our love,
