Shine by Jeanne Faircloth / Love,

Mom

You brought such joy, such laughter, and at times made me so mad at you I stormed and stomped until I laughed and cried. I never had a house cat before you. Never knew what it was like to have someone who brought such “nice” presents to me at all hours of the day and night. How proud you were when you would bring me mice, into my bed, in the middle of the night, and still alive!

How I would run around the room with a shoe or whatever was handy to catch them while you sat in the middle of the bed and watched. Yet I loved you so much. Prince misses you. He misses the games you would play with him. For a dog, you played with him almost as much as the first beagle we inflicted on you. He looked for you for months. It took me almost 4 months to post this tribute,
your death affected me so.

You were with me before marriage, kids, all 6 of the dogs. So much you had to put up with, you did it with such dignity. Someday, maybe the house will have another kitten. But it will never have another such ray of “sunshine” as you. Hope you are laying in the sunniest spot in heaven.

Always your obedient servant,
Shine
