Snaggle by Judy

I first met Snaggle two years ago in Okinawa Japan. He was 12 years old at the time with a bad heart condition. I was contacted by a friend in PAWS who knew I had a special place in my heart for chihuahuas. He was left behind by his previous owners. I was afraid to adopt him at first because I knew he didn’t have much time left and I would become attached. I decided to take that chance and I’m so glad I did!

The vets called him a miracle dog instead of living for only six months he lived 2 happy years. We got him on the right medications and were able to manage his heart condition. He was even able to travel back to the U.S. from Okinawa with me in the cabin of the airplane. He was a trooper! The vets told me his heart would begin to fail at some point even with the medication but he was doing so well I didn’t think
that would happen any time soon.

Everybody that met Snaggle loved him. He was sweet gentle and affectionate. He could be very frisky when he wanted to be. He had the small dog attitude towards bigger dogs. He made us smile every single day
with his antics.

These past two years I thought I was taking care of him now I realize he was taking care of me. He brought me so much joy and comfort every day and I miss so
many things about him.

Snaggle died the day after my father-in-laws funeral. I believe he went up to heaven to take care of him that is the kind of dog he was. He died in his bed at home. I was not there when he died so I feel terribly guilty for that. I had a pet sitter who was a God-send. I am so thankful for her.

I know Snaggle is in a better place and he is at peace. I am so thankful that I let him into my life he was such a blessing. He will be truly and dearly missed by many!!!
