Good Bye Katie --April 7 2000
You were a sweet little Aussie mix pup that Jan
got at the Humane Society to help ease
the sorrow from her other loss.
She welcomed you into her home and heart.
You played in the yard with the neighbor's dog
relaxed in the house and received a lot of love.
After only a couple of days you were not eating and looking so sad.
Jan took you to the vet and learned that you had Parvo.
You returned to the Humane Society to slip away to the Bridge.
Jan feels so very bad that they did not give her an opportunity
to say good bye to you her darlin Katie.
But you know that she loved you from the moment
she first saw you and was thrilled to have you for that short time.
Please help Jan realize that there was nothing
more that she could have done for you
as the vet said that your chances for recovery were very slim
and you would have had to endue
a lot of pain in the process.
Jan gave you her final act of love
when she let your pain be stilled.
Go to the Bridge now Katie run and play in the sunshine
with all the other pets there until the day you meet
Jan again and you cross the Bridge together.
