Dear Casper,
You were one tough brave loyal cat.
I will miss waiting for you to inspect the fifth and sixth floors
of the apartment building chasing your brother around the house,
telling me that it is time to go to bed and cuddling up against me
and purring me to sleep.
I hated to watch you becoming scrawny and emaciated as
kidney failure took its toll. I worried as you couldn't eat
and no longer bothered to wash yourself.
I wish you could have died quietly at home,
but your pain would have been too great and
I had have you put to sleep.
Casper may you sleep peacefully
beneath the ivy where I buried you today.
We won't forget you.
