To me you were more then just a Mutt!!!
To me you were a Best friend!!!
This is for you Duffy!
I only had you with me for 10 years but you made them some of
the best years. I still remember the day when I saw you for the
first time you were in the back corner of the kennel and
when I walked up you ran to the front tail wagging and
when I suck my hand into the kennel you licked it.
I knew that second that we were meant for each other.
I can't explain it I just felt this feeling that to this day I haven't felt
again. On the way home I named you. The day you were put
up for adoption mom was there at 8 never mind that the shelter
didn't open until 12. That day they let mom bring you home.
When I walked in the door you knocked me on my bottom.
You started to lick me and wouldn't stop mom had to pull you off!
As the years went by I grew up and you grew older.
You were always there for me. No matter if it was good or bad
happy or sad and boy were there a lot of sad times.
You always listened with your head in my lap.
Always licking my face as if to say that things were going to be okay.
You never walked away when I was upset always right by my side.
Always protecting me. At night you were there to keep me warm.
You were an excellent dog Duffy.
A wise man once said that if you are very lucky you will
have one good dog in your life!
That must mean I am the luckiest girl in the world.
You did your job well. I know you were a gift from haven.
You were sent to me in my time of need. I didn't want
to give you back. You are not dead. I keep you a live in my heart.
Your picture that I took the day after I got you is right next to bed
along with your collar and ashes. And that is were they will always be.
It been over a year now and I still miss you like crazy.
I will never forget you.
I will always love you I will NEVER stop.
And when I died we will be together again
in Heaven.
