To Autumn:
You were the sweetest most gentle cat I have ever known.
I loved you so much.
I always called you "Beautiful," because
that's what you were.
The markings on your face gave
you such a sweet intelligent expression.
You were so loving and wonderful.
You can never be replaced in my heart.
I am so sorry that I couldn't keep you inside
because of our landlord's rules.
I feel responsible for your death.
It also bothers me that I couldn't tell how you died.
I pray that you felt no pain.
Please know that if it had been up to me
I would have slept with you every night
instead of just sneaking you in sometimes.
Please forgive me.
Thank you for everything.
I will love you and remember you always.
