Oh Pearl if only I knew what happened to you.
You were just fine when Daddy fed you in the morning..
and when he came home from work that night you were gone...
you weren't sick or injured; there were no marks on your body..
no indication of what happened to you...
what took you away from us...you were only 6 years old...
I wasn't prepared by half for your sudden departure from my life.
How I miss you following me around like a puppy dog...
curling up in bed with me...
insisting that I pay attention to you.
You were the sweetest little kitty...
I remember the night that you had your babies
under my work table..
I couldn't get out of your sight..
you would get up and follow me..contractions and all...
And after your babies were born...
you wouldn't leave them in their box if it wasn't near me...
You trusted me to look after your babies...
and I'm still doing it Pearl...of course they're all grown up now
but I'll never send them away...I'll always keep them with me...
they are all I have left of you now.
Whatever happened to you Pearl I hope that you didn't suffer
here all alone while no one was home to comfort you...
You were my "little rat" and I'll always miss you and love you...
Wait for me at the Rainbow Bridge...
Sissy Dog is there to keep you company
and Jasper and Jasmine who you never knew and Sox and Sparky
and all of the others that I've had over the years
before you came into our lives...
each of them was as unique as you were...
but you were extra special and I think you knew that...
Daddy tries not to show it but he misses you too...
We'll always love you Pearl and hold you in our hearts
until that day when we all meet again in heaven....
