Pukka

" Pukka "

February 1998

Himalayan

We lost our Pukka

a gorgeous chocolate and tan Himalayan cat

in February and it tore my heart out.

We had had her with us for 17 years and

she was about 2 when we got her.

She had been my aunt's cat and was found next to

her body - hence her name.

She was not affectionate per se but sat guard

(facing away) wherever I was.

She also was a "dominant" cat so we could have

no other pets while she lived.

Her loss left me so torn up that I immediately

went to the local Humane Society (within hours!)

and brought a ten year old bruiser named SAM

who is affection personified.

He has helped tremendously but I still am in denial,

and cry at the drop of a hat.

I have bought a beautiful sleeping cat statue

from Jackson & Perkins the Rose people in Oreon

which will be put under a rose bud

tree sapling I am transplanting into my front

lawn this spring and her ashes will go under it.

With Loving Memories

Ellie
