Australian Terrier

What fine bunch of dogs!

Kempsey wasn't with us for long (1980-1982) but was the

introduction for our family into dog ownership.

He was smart as hell but due to our own ignorance he grew aloof.

Incurable intense epilepsy wore him down to a shadow of his former self.

Corrigan was a prize winner. The only one of the three to live a

full life (1982-1994) he was friendly and perpetually by your side.

He was totally undemanding other than wanting to sit or sleep

within a few paces of you. Cushing's disease/diabetes snuck up on him.

We thought he was getting old and slow but it was the hormonal

imbalance from the disease. Then it gave way to diabetes and blindness.

Instead of subjecting a sick dog afraid of travel to the long trip

to Denver we put him to sleep.

Hoover was another one with a brief visit although he packed so

much in it seemed like many years (1995-1998).

He was the most playful energetic and joyful dog we'd had.

He would play 24 hours a day. He was affectionate with everyone

(except squirrels). We couldn't stand to see him spend so much

time wandering the backyard by himself so we took the plunge and

got him a companion Molly.

At the same time we learned he had lymphoma and was dying.

In the three months together he taught Molly several of his old tricks

but in the end we had to put him to sleep before the cancer destroyed him.

You are all missed greatly.

The thought of all of you playing together,

and teaching each other what you learned,

breaks my heart.
