Bodhi Satva by Tom

Bodhi Satva

Large of frame and huge of heart found at the Oregon Humane Society in November of 1993. My constant companion and dearest friend. So friendly that he never fought or bit not even once. He ran up to people large tail wagging in a circular motion just wanting to make friends. He let my son’s pet rat climb on his back even though he didn’t want to. During his last days his legs kept collapsing out from under him and he would land on the ground with a puzzled expression. During his final week he came up to me while I was asleep put his head under the blanket and gave me doggie kisses very unusual for him. He was unable to get on the bed at one point so I laid a blanked down near my bed for him to rest on. I still expect him to come barging into my room his big blocky head banging the door open telling me it was time to get up and take a walk. He taught me what true love is and I am a better person for him. I had a dream he was beside me last night as I was asleep and I awoke somehow comforted as though he had decided to visit me and let me know he was fine.

Good Bye my best friend…

Tom
