Miss Kitty was a beautiful gray kitten. She had one litter of kittens in 1997 and Smokey was born. My son Danny claimed Smokey and cared for him a few months. One day Danny asked me to take care of Smokey for him…a few days later Danny committed suicide. I was horrified…Danny was 24. Smokey and Miss Kitty became a part of ou family…and I know Smokey helped me get through all those years…I loved him so. He was with me every minute. He shook hands and went for walks on a leash and so did Miss Kitty. They were very close with each other. Smokey got kidney failure in Sept. of ’99 and he was on medications and fluids every day and even blood transfusions.
Then on May 26 Miss Kitty got sick…she had fluid on her lungs. I was taking them both to our wonderful vet every day. I think Miss Kitty just gave up as she knew Smokey was so sick…she only lived 3 weeks…she died on June 13 2000….just before noon….at home. The next day Smokey died on the 14th at noon. I guess they wanted to be together at the Rainbow Bridge.
I love you Miss Kitty and I miss you with all my heart…thank you for Smokey and all the wonderful years we had together….you both were my life and my companions…it is hard to go on living without you. I thank God or letting me have all that extra time with Miss Kitty and especially Smokey…..maybe that was God’s way of giving me something to cling to from Danny. I miss you both and you will always be in my heart and my mind.We will be together someday soon.
