How do you begin to say goodbye to your best friend. I rescued Jave from a shelter when he was about 1 years old. From that point on we were inseparable. We traveled and moved from one coast to the other and he was right by my side never complaining. He taught me so much about unconditional love…he always gave while never asking for anything in return. He woke me in the morning and was right there to say goodnight.
About 1 1/2 years ago he was diagnosed with a severe kidney disease and heart problems as well. They gave him no more than 6 months to live…but he was a fighter and stayed for a year more than they thought he would. In that year and a half even when he was the sickest he was right by my side. It hurt me SO much to see him get so sick until one day he just wouldn’t eat anymore and he had lost half of his weight and I knew it was time for him to go.
The day I took him to be put to sleep was the saddest and hardest day of my life….I just watched him calmly go to sleep with one last look at me to say goodbye….
How do you begin to say goodbye to your best friend….I won’t say goodbye just…See you in heaven one day..
