Damon came into our lives one snowy December day. Our youngest Daughter Elizabeth brought him all the way from North Carolina. Damon would not lay down the whole trip. He sat in the front seat the whole way. He was a rescued Rottweiler and it was love at first site. When Dick first laid eyes on him you could feel the love. They bonded very quickly. It wasn’t too long after that Damon became our partner in responding to the Fire calls or accidents in the fire company both Dee and Dick belong to. He protected the car as we protected our fireman. Damon had another older sister named Dana and her husband Mike who always gave Damon a back massage. He just loved that more than anything. Damon was our Grandson’s protector. We will always remember the sled ride at Valley Forge Park with Damon trying to keep the sled from going down the hill with Eric in it.We all laughed so hard.
Eight weeks ago we learned he had LymphoSarcoma and there was no cure. He remained at home and hated taking those pills that gave him such relief but only for a short time. Today was the day he asked to go to that Rainbow Bridge he had heard about. We know when our time comes he will be there and he will be renewed and the same dog we knew and loved since that very first meeting.
Damon you may be gone but you will never be forgotten.
Dixie Buddy and Boy your housemates already miss you. Bonnie
Riggs,Penny and Heidi your cousins in North Carolina will
also miss you.
Good bye my friend and we will see you on the other side.
