Hercules was our crazy little cockatiel. Although her size was little the love she had inside filled our home and our hearts. She would listen for our footsteps on the steps that let her know we were home and she would excitingly chirp our arrival “Wheeew Wheeeeew wheeeew!”. By the time the key was in the door Hercules would go to the corner of her cage and climb to the top for the best view and to let us know she was ready to be let out. I would walk to her cage and as soon as I got my hand to the door she would jump on the door and onto my hand. Now it was cuddle time and she needed lots! As I would bring my hand to my face she would stretch her neck as far as she could and press her beak on my upper lip while I stroked her head and bright orange cheeks. As I stroked her crest feathers she would close her eyes and let out little “tweets”.
Meal times were her favorite time to spend with us and she insisted on being invited to dinner especially if it was spaghetti or pizza. She would pace back and forth in her cage while we would prepare dinner. Then we would let her out. She never wanted her own plate ours was just fine and she would go back and forth from Monte’s to mine.
She loved to watch t.v. and movies with us too. She would clean all her feathers then fall asleep on our hand.
Hercules was our best friend our precious little bird that brought us nothing but love and joy for 7 wonderful years. She was one in a million; we deeply miss her and she will remain in our hearts forever.
We love you Hercules!
Love Always
