Sascha by Yvonne / Yvonne

In memory of a great dog and buddy, Sascha!

God’s Empty Garden

God looked around His garden
And He found an empty place.
He then looked down upon
This earth and saw your tired face.
He put His arms around you
And lifted you to rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful,
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were in pain.
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again.
So He closed your weary eyelids
And whispered, “Peace Be Thine.”
He then took you up to Heaven with
Hands gentle and so kind.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you
The day God called you Home.

My Mom actually bought Sascha as a puppy, she couldn’t resist when she saw him! It was not even planned, she saw this add which said “puppies for sale” while driving home, so she stopped…and got Sascha. When my Mom moved out from home, it was my dear uncle who now took care of him. I know he truly loved him, he always made sure Sascha had everything he needed. I am sorry I don’t remember this special dog, I was too young.
But through the many memories and pics my family shares with me, I got to know Sascha. And I am glad for that.

At 14 1/2 years of age, Sascha began to have seizures. They happened suddenly and always more often. The day came when my uncle could no longer bear to see his friend suffer this way. It was the hardest decision ever to help Sascha cross to Rainbow Bridge. He stayed with him until the end, and I know Sascha was thankful he could go in peace.

Sascha, you will never be forgotten, even after all these years you are still a part of our lives. Have fun at the Bridge, play with your doggy-buddy Lumpi and watch over your dear human friend, my uncle. He’ll always remember you.

In Memory,
Sascha
