Riverbend by Pat Cutbirth and The Ratliffs / Lynne, Pat, Curt and Lisa

Riverbend was a Himi that my Mom and I found in the tall grass beside the Iowa River. He was obviously dumped because his fur was matted and looked like he had been surviving by the river for some time. We were driving back to Iowa Falls, when a Siamese-looking cat peeked his head up as if to say, “I’m a elderly Meezer and would you give me some help?!”

We took him over to Mom’s house in a carrier, then transported him to my house since she had so many other cats from the recent rescue of 3 in Kansas. We named him Riverbend because he was found in the bend of the river, but his eyes were of the purest blue, his coat after a time was like silk and his temperament was of an angel.

Now he is an angel, an angel that is free of being a Geezer Meezer, but will be missing by all that loved him.

We Will Always Feel Your Love,
Riverbend
