Missy by Bob Stamper / Daddy

In Memory of Missy, beloved Cocker Spaniel and
my best friend 3/18/04

I had to put her to sleep today, one of the hardest things I have had to do, but I know now that she is in no pain, in heaven and waiting for me. What I want to remember about Missy is the good times we had, the walks in the park, the walks on the beach, the times we played fetch.

I want to remember coming home from work, her wagging her little tale so happy to see me, and me so happy to see her. She would wait for me rub and massage her belly, with tail a wagging. I will mss the times she slept on the bed with me, most the time right next to me. The sitting on couch watching television together, I will miss my friend so much, that right now it hurts. Having other pets, they too are somewhat grieving/confused because Missy is not here.

My other dog, lucky, a golden retriever, is not eating. I will miss the times they played together outside, and in the house. With Missy winning the match most the time. I will miss the times we just went for car rides since she loved the car. Will miss taking her to work with me, just to have her close by, and me to her. I also will miss just letting her outside, on potty breaks, and to play.

Missy was the best dog a person could have, loved on everybody. Heck I even kidded around, if a burglar would come around, she would probably lick him/her all up. She loved her treat before I left the house for work. It was really hard tonight, and not be able to take her outside after I got off work. It was hard leaving for work, but I could not stay in the house today, I had to get out.

There were many special times together in the 9 plus years I had her, but her heart just would not respond to medication and continue to be normal. Right now I’m sure she’s romping through the hills, green grass, with others like her, waiting for me. When we meet again, the tail will be a wagging, and the kisses will be flowing. I can’t wait to see her again.

With Lots of Love,
Missy
