Fallon by Madeliene Eggleton / Nanny Madeliene

Fallon was in the R.S.P.C.A. early in l987, a young adult full of life, she loved life. She became ours and she loved everyone in the family but she especially adored me and would follow me everywhere, always jumping about happily behind me. Jim, my husband, would tell me how she lay down all quiet and well behaved whenever I was out of the house but the minute I stepped through the door, up got Fallon and she would begin to jump and bark with joy at seeing me.

The years passed and she was still always wagging her tail and leaping about, enjoying her life. One evening I fed my dogs and Fallon did not touch her food. Later she did not want her favourite biscuits at supper time either and when I put my hand down to touch her by my feet she just lay there. I got out of bed during the long night to check on her and she never got off the sofa to me and
I knew something was very wrong.

Next day my daughter and myself took Fallon to the vets. He kept her there to put her on a drip and do some tests. I rang very early the following morning to see how she was doing and my Fallon had just passed away. Later the vet talked to me and told me Fallon had had kidney failure and other problems which he explained to me.

Right up until the last one and a half days there had been no signs of any illness, she had still been jumping and full of life and happiness. Fallon was about 13 years old. She had always loved life and had enjoyed life. She was a wonderful girl who would have laid down that life for me.

I still love you,Fallon. l always will.
