Jasmine, you knew I picked you after I lost Genie not to take her place but so you also would know what it was like to be loved by someone! I even put Genie’s red collar on you and told you that only a very SPECIAL Greyhound would ever wear that collar – that was YOU! Unfortunately we were only together for a year before you also had to join Genie but that year was one of the best since I’d lost her! You had your own personality – but yet you did a lot of the same things Genie used to do – like laying in the crate & I’d wake up with your head on top of mine!
I guess you thought it made a good pillow but you snored! Even when it was warm you still wanted to lay in the crate with me and if I moved away even a little bit you always made sure your paw was touching me – almost as if to reassure me you were still there.
The day will come my Friend when we will all be reunited. I know you know I’m no longer with that kennel after all the accidents that happened!
You were the silent type and never told anyone who really caused those accidents yet you were always there for me!
Jasmine – tonight when I started this letter to you I couldn’t type but I know God is helping with this cause of my broken arm. Each time an ‘accident’ happened I’d come to you and you’d lap away my tears and I told you everything would be okay soon. Well, Jasmine, the time has come – I finally listened and now will have more time to spend helping others. I’ll be so glad when Friday comes and I can pick up your ashes and bring them home! Then I’ll have you and Genie here together!
I’ll NEVER forget you Jasmine and I know one day GOD will let us be together again!
